SUMMARY:


Join Merit Services, a prominent provider of accounting and financial services, as a Quantitative Analyst for our client’s team in Toronto. As a Quantitative Analyst you will apply advanced quantitative and analytical skills to drive data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making. By joining our team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of quantitative models, risk assessments, and investment strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quantitative Modeling and Analysis: Develop and enhance quantitative models to analyze financial data, assess risk, and support investment decision-making. Utilize statistical and mathematical techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and trends in data.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Collect, organize, and clean large datasets to ensure data integrity. Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights and develop statistical models.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop risk models to evaluate market, credit, and operational risks. Provide recommendations to optimize risk-return trade-offs and support risk management strategies.
  • Investment Research and Strategy: Perform quantitative research on investment opportunities, asset classes, and market trends. Assist in the development and implementation of investment strategies and portfolio optimization techniques.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze investment performance, attribution, and attribution models. Evaluate investment strategies and recommend improvements based on performance analysis.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including portfolio managers, traders, and risk management professionals, to deliver accurate and timely reports. Present findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as Master’s or PhD are highly advantageous.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in quantitative analysis, preferably in the financial services industry. Experience in developing and implementing quantitative models is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB. Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SQL or similar tools is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and quantitative techniques. Familiarity with financial derivatives, pricing models, and risk management concepts is beneficial.
  • Proficient in working with large datasets and applying statistical and mathematical techniques to extract insights.
