SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive individual to manage our recycling plant in Chilliwack and oversee all recycling operations. The perfect candidate will oversee daily plant operations, prioritize efficiency, and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage every part of the recycling facility’s operations, such as organizing, handling, and transporting recyclable materials.
- Create and execute plans to improve efficiency and increase productivity.
- Make sure to follow all environmental laws and safety guidelines.
- Effectively lead and inspire a team of plant employees, offering direction, education, and assistance when necessary.
- Effectively control inventory levels and organize the handling of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Supervise the functioning of equipment and arrange for necessary maintenance and repairs when needed.
- Work together with key stakeholders to find ways to improve processes and save money.
- Regularly create and deliver reports on the performance of the plant and essential metrics to senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related area of study is required.
- Demonstrated expertise leading in the recycling or waste management sector.
- Extensive understanding of recycling techniques and machinery.
- Outstanding abilities in organization and solving problems.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities.
- The capability to perform effectively under stress and adhere to set deadlines.
- Proficiency in understanding environmental regulations and safety standards.
