RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intelligently create and construct marine vehicles, offshore structures, and associated systems, while taking into account aspects like stability, efficiency, security, and ecological influence.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of the practicality, financial implications, and potential hazards associated with marine engineering initiatives.
  • Smartly review and prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for the construction and modification of marine structures.
  • Supervise the building, setup, and examination of marine machinery and systems, guaranteeing adherence to regulations and standards of excellence.
  • Efficiently oversee the operation of marine machinery and systems, promptly identifying and solving any technical problems that may arise.
  • Carry out thorough reviews and assessments of marine ships and structures to confirm adherence to regulatory guidelines and classification society standards.
  • Work closely with a diverse group of professionals such as naval architects, marine surveyors, and project managers to ensure the smooth implementation of marine engineering projects
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, industry trends, and maritime regulations in order to introduce and execute inventive strategies.
  • Offer expert assistance and advice to both internal and external parties, such as shipyard employees, contractors, and customers.
  • Ensure that all engineering designs, calculations, and project-related documentation are kept in precise and up-to-date records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a similar field Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required.
  • Professionals who hold a P. Eng or are qualified to be registered with a professional engineering association.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marine engineering, ship construction, or offshore engineering.
  • Extensive understanding of marine engineering principles, regulations, and industry norms.
  • Proficient usage of engineering software and tools for the purpose of designing, analyzing, and simulating.
  • The ability to understand marine propulsion systems, stability analysis, and marine electrical systems.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical abilities demonstrated through a meticulous focus on even the smallest details.
  • Good communication and people skills, able to collaborate well with teams from different departments.
  • Being capable of handling various projects and completing them within set timeframes in a high-pressure setting.
  • Having prior knowledge of project management principles and practices is highly desirable.
