SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, adjust, and uphold data communications hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Identify and fix network problems to ensure high performance and dependability.
- Work with teams from different departments to create and execute data communication solutions that align with the needs of the business.
- Monitor the performance of the network and pinpoint areas where it can be optimized and enhanced.
- Help with creating and putting into practice network security protocols and rules in order to safeguard against online security risks.
- Create and share information about network configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and reference.
- Offer assistance and training to end-users on data communications technologies and recommended methods.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A diploma or a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated background as a Data Communications Technician or comparable position, with a strong aptitude for setting up and resolving issues with network devices.
- A deep understanding of networking principles and protocols such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols is essential.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic software, including Wireshark and SNMP.
- Thorough understanding of network security principles and practices, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Exceptional ability to communicate and connect with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, showcasing strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, emphasizing the delivery of top-notch solutions.
- Having certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) would be advantageous.
