SUMMARY:
Merit Services is actively seeking an exceptional and driven DevOps Engineer to join our esteemed client’s vibrant team in North York. We are searching for a highly skilled professional who possesses a solid software development background and expertise in establishing and managing continuous integration and deployment workflows. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in helping our client achieve their commercial objectives through your strong analytical acumen and proficiency in optimizing software development processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient DevOps solutions.
- Utilize your robust software development background to automate and streamline build, deployment, and release processes.
- Establish and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable software delivery.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement, optimization, and automation, implementing best practices and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the development lifecycle.
- Ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of production systems by implementing monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams to define infrastructure requirements and provide guidance on scalable and secure cloud infrastructure architectures.
- Implement and maintain configuration management tools, containerization technologies, and orchestration frameworks to enable efficient deployment and scaling of applications.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security policies, implement secure access controls, and proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, showcasing a strong software development background and expertise in establishing and managing CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python.
- Solid understanding and experience with version control systems.
- Experience with containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in DevOps processes.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) are a plus.
