SUMMARY:

Merit Services is seeking a Database Administrator for our client in Toronto. As a database administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of our company’s databases. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that our databases are optimized for performance and meet the needs of our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and maintain databases that meet our company’s needs
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our databases
  • Monitor database performance and optimize for maximum efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve database-related issues
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in database technology and make recommendations for improvements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
  • Experience with database design and modelling
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
