SUMMARY:
Merit Services is seeking Back-End Developer to join our client’s dynamic team in Kelowna. As a Back-End Developer, your role will involve working closely with diverse teams to create and execute server-based processes, databases, and application programming interfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project’s needs and convert them into effective and dependable back-end programming.
- Create, construct, and upkeep server-based software and databases that uphold the functionality and efficiency of web applications.
- Develop and enhance application programming interfaces (APIs) to enable smooth integration between front-end and back-end elements.
- Implement strong security measures to safeguard data and guarantee adherence to privacy and data protection regulations.
- Enhance the server-side code to improve scalability and performance, guaranteeing a streamlined and prompt user experience.
- Perform comprehensive testing and debugging to identify and fix any problems or performance limitations.
- Work together with front-end developers to incorporate back-end features into the user interface.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in back-end technologies, frameworks, and best practices, and integrate them into development procedures.
- Take part in code evaluations and offer valuable feedback to uphold the quality of code and adherence to established guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A related field or a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required for this bachelor’s program.
- Demonstrated expertise as a Back-End Developer or in a comparable position, crafting and managing server-side applications.
- A high level of skill in back-end technologies such as Node. js, Python, or Java is required.
- Extensive understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Having practical knowledge and expertise in the development and integration of application programming interfaces.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and the ability to effectively collaborate on development workflows.
- Knowledge of security protocols and compliance with data protection laws.
- Strong ability to solve problems and extremely attentive to details.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, able to function efficiently within a team setting.
