SUMMARY: Merit Services is seeking an Able bodied Seaman – Tanker to join our client’s dynamic team a in Toronto. As an Able bodied Seaman – Tanker requires using your technical knowledge, ability to solve problems and focus on customer support to effectively handle and solve IT problems promptly. This presents an exhilarating chance to serve as the initial touchpoint for IT assistance, making a significant contribution to our organization’s efficiency and triumph.
RESPONSIBILITIES
‣ Ensure total care and control of freon-based plant (moving to ammonia in near future)
‣ Support ship-assist, line handling and cargo loading/unloading
‣ Perform fire and security rounds and maintain gangway watch while in port
‣ Watchkeeping duties as required by Chief Officer
‣ General upkeep and maintenance duties including painting, cleaning and planned maintenance work
‣ Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED
‣ Bridge Watch Rating Certificate of Competency issued by Transport Canada
‣ Oil and Chemical Tanker Familiarization
‣ Previous tanker experience required
‣ Marine Emergency Duties (MED’s) STCW Basic Safety and Survival Craft Certifications
‣ Transport Canada Marine Medical
‣ Strong communication and proven teamwork skills
