Merit Services is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our client’s dynamic team in Thunder Bay. As the Production Supervisor, your responsibilities would include supervising day-to-day activities, maintaining safety and quality standards, and implementing ongoing improvement programs. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Direct and manage the tasks of production staff, encompassing task delegation, scheduling, and monitoring of their work performance.
    • Guarantee achievement of production goals by keeping track of operations, making necessary alterations to schedules, and handling any obstructions or complications in production.
    • To ensure a secure and productive workplace, it is essential to implement and uphold safety protocols and procedures for quality control.
    • Strengthen the expertise and proficiency of the production team through training and development, by cultivating a collaborative environment that promotes perpetual growth.
    • Work together with teams from various departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance, to effectively solve production-related problems and improve processes.
    • To keep a check on production procedures and recognize scopes for improvement, suggest and put into action process improvements that can elevate productivity and efficacy.
    • Keep an eye on the production metrics, generate performance reports, and accentuate the ways in which the process can be improved. Take corrective measures as required.
    • Guarantee adherence to the guidelines, processes, and legal obligations of the organization.
    • Encourage a constructive workplace atmosphere through the promotion of employee involvement, the resolution of disputes, and the acknowledgment of exceptional achievements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Having a high school diploma or equivalent is required, however, possessing relevant higher education could be advantageous.
    • Demonstrated expertise as a Production Supervisor or in a comparable position of supervision in the context of manufacturing.
    • A proficient understanding of manufacturing procedures, standards of excellence, and precautions for safety.
    • Outstanding ability to lead and communicate effectively, while also having a knack for motivating and inspiring teams.
    • Remarkable capacity for resolving complex issues and making sound judgments.
    • An adept grasp of the fundamental concepts of lean manufacturing principles as well as the methodologies for incessant enhancement.
    • Having a high level of expertise in utilizing software and tools for managing production.
    • Having the capability to cooperate and perform efficiently with teams that have diverse functions.
