SUMMARY:
Merit Services is seeking a skilled and innovative Waste Reduction Consultant to join our client’s dynamic team in Regina. As a Waste Reduction Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our clients in implementing effective waste reduction strategies and promoting sustainable practices. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with clients to assess their waste management practices and identify opportunities for waste reduction and recycling.
- Develop and implement customized waste reduction plans and strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Conduct waste audits and analyze data to measure current waste generation, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Provide expertise and guidance on waste reduction technologies, recycling programs, and sustainable waste management practices.
- Conduct employee training and awareness programs to promote waste reduction and proper waste handling techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of waste reduction initiatives, tracking progress towards waste reduction targets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to waste reduction and sustainability.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate waste reduction strategies into overall sustainability efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a waste reduction consultant or in waste management and recycling.
- Strong knowledge of waste reduction principles, recycling processes, and sustainable waste management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex waste management systems and identify improvement opportunities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build client relationships and deliver engaging presentations.
- Project management skills to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Passion for sustainability and waste reduction.
