SUMMARY:
Merit Services is actively recruiting a highly skilled Settlements Analyst to join our esteemed client in Toronto. As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial reporting and analysis for our client based in Concord. We are seeking an ideal candidate for the Settlements Analyst position who possesses meticulous attention to detail, excels under pressure, and exhibits a genuine passion for the ever-evolving financial markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify trade details and ensure accurate and timely settlement of financial transactions.
  • Promptly reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor and analyze failed transactions, proactively providing resolutions to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper transaction processing and seamless settlement.
  • Maintain relationships with external counterparties, such as brokers and custodians, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay vigilant and up-to-date with regulatory changes impacting settlement processes.
  • Provide analysis and reporting to senior management on settlement performance and trends.
  • Actively participate in projects aimed at enhancing settlement processes and optimizing strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, demonstrating a strong educational foundation.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in settlements or trade operations, showcasing a proven track record in the field.
  • Display meticulous attention to detail and thrive in high-pressure environments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in settlements.
  • Exhibit exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, adept at resolving complex issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Showcase excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
  • Experience with trade processing and settlement systems, such as FIS and Broadridge, highlighting proficiency in utilizing industry-standard platforms for efficient settlement operations.
