Merit Services Ltd is currently seeking a Settlements Analyst to ensure the efficient and precise settlement of financial transactions for one of our esteemed clients in Toronto. As a Settlements Analyst, your meticulous attention to detail, ability to thrive under pressure, and genuine passion for the financial markets will be invaluable in this role.


  • Execute timely and accurate settlement of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to resolve settlement discrepancies and address any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and reconcile trade confirmations, invoices, and other relevant documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify and mitigate potential settlement risks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to settlements, and implement necessary changes or enhancements accordingly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding settlements.


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in settlement operations or a similar role within the financial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products, markets, and settlement procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot and rectify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems used for settlement processing.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks.
