Job Description

Merit Services Ltd is hiring a Recruiter in their office in Halifax, NS. This is a full-time position available in Halifax, NS. Some previous training experience is required.

Job responsibilities

  1. Plan recruitment strategies
  2. Execute the recruitment strategies on the orders to be filled
  3. Reaching out to potential clients and presenting our services through calls and emails
  4. Conduct the initial screening interviews, telephone interviews, and/or face-to-face interviews with the prospective applicant
  5. Utilize various resources – internet, community organizations, print media, formal/informal networks, colleges, trade associations – to, directly and indirectly, source qualified candidates
  6. Strategize own ways to create resources to find potential candidates
  7. Assist in ensuring the maintenance of accurate and concise records and reports concerning the recruitment process, working within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and HRIS tools used at Merit Services
  8. Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and state regulations concerning employment (verifying SIN/, payroll information, verifying IDs, etc.)
  9. Provide on-site safety reviews and audits.
  10. Conduct a seamless orientation and on-boarding for external and internal candidates
  11. Assist with maintaining timesheets

Qualifications:

  1. Human Resources Diploma, Human Resources bachelors (asset)
  2. Sound knowledge of Health and safety regulations
  3. Proficient with Microsoft office
  4. Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly and effectively’
