Merit Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team in surrey. As a Procurement Specialist, your primary duties will include overseeing supplier relations, bargaining for contracts, and securing economical procurement of resources and services. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform market research and analysis in order to pinpoint prospective suppliers and assess their abilities, pricing, and quality.

    • Be in charge of the entire procurement process from start to finish, which involves sending requests for quotes/proposals, assessing bids, and haggling with suppliers to come to contractual agreements.
    • Keep a close eye on supplier performance, oversee contract renewals, and consistently work towards enhancing supplier relationships.
    • Efficiently identify areas where costs can be reduced and apply strategies to optimize procurement expenses, all while maintaining high standards of both quality and timely delivery.
    • Make sure that procurement policies, procedures, and legal mandates are followed.
    • Ensure precise records of procurement are kept, comprising supplier documentation, purchase orders, and contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in business with a focus on supply chain management or a similar area is necessary.
  • Demonstrated expertise in procurement, vendor management, or strategic sourcing.
  • Proficiency in procurement procedures, deal bargaining, and vendor assessment.
  • A high degree of expertise in utilizing procurement software and tools.
  • Outstanding abilities in communicating and interacting with others to establish and sustain beneficial connections with suppliers and internal associates.
  • Possessing an analytical outlook and the competence to scrutinize data, detect patterns, and employ information-based judgments.
  • Exceptional abilities in negotiating and exerting influence to attain positive results.
  • Able to focus on details effectively and possessing outstanding abilities in managing time and organizing tasks.
  • Being capable of working autonomously, handling numerous tasks effectively and accomplishing them within tight deadlines amidst a dynamic work setting.
