Merit Services is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our client’s dynamic team in Oshawa. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our client’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.   • Design, implement, and manage the overall network architecture, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), internet connectivity, and wireless networks.
  • Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure seamless connectivity and efficient network operation.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary solutions to maximize network uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Ensure network security by implementing and enforcing appropriate access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform regular network maintenance activities, including software upgrades, patch management, and backup and recovery procedures.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration, and recommend improvements to enhance the network infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network-related issues and assist in resolving their concerns.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to network emergencies or critical incidents outside of regular working hours.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 
  • At least 3 years of experience in network administration. 
  • Proficiency in network management and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG. 
  • Experience with network security protocols and best practices. 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and VPN technologies.
