RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing heavy vehicle maintenance to ensure safe operation of heavy trucks as well as CO2 and cryogenic units
- Completing diagnostic and repairs of broken-down heavy vehicles that the maintenance supervisor assigned to the mechanics
- Ordering spare parts from suppliers
- Completing in a timely matter the required electronic documents and paperwork for internal and external requirements for heavy vehicle maintenance
- Performing vehicle repairs, which include work on motors, mechanical assemblies, and electrical or electronic components.
- The mechanic must be able to complete repairs on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and also piping systems. Repairs are also needed to ensure the safety and comfort of the driver.
- The mechanic may assign certain repairs to other technicians and/or suppliers according to their specialty
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Class G driver’s license
- Air brake (Z) endorsement is a big asset
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic and a specialized certification in heavy vehicle mechanics (310T, 310J)
- B620 TC/MC 331, TC/MC 341 experience is an asset
- Must be comfortable working with a computer
- Must have a safe attitude and value customer service
- Knowledge of compressed gases and safe handling techniques
- Willingness to comply with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Insist on safety and customer satisfaction
