SUMMARY:
Merit Services is currently embarking on an exciting quest to find an extraordinary and ambitious IT Manager to lead and supervise our client’s esteemed tech squad. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the unwavering performance and efficiency of our Canadian company’s expansive IT infrastructure and cutting-edge systems. As the IT Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily technology department operations, introducing innovative technological advancements, and upholding the utmost security and reliability of our systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead and manage the technology department, providing strong leadership and guidance to a team of skilled IT professionals.
  • Take charge of daily operations, ensuring seamless functioning of the IT infrastructure, networks, and systems, while promptly addressing any arising issues.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, roadmaps, and initiatives to continually improve the organization’s technological capabilities, aligning them with business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand their technology requirements, challenges, and opportunities, and provide effective solutions accordingly.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and systems to optimize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technological trends and advancements, and leverage this knowledge to propose innovative solutions that enhance our company’s competitive edge.
  • Establish and enforce robust security measures, including data protection, network security, access controls, and disaster recovery, to safeguard our systems from potential threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the technology department.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance and value for the organization.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget, tracking expenses, and making strategic investments to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Create comprehensive reports and presentations to effectively communicate IT performance, progress, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the IT field.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing strategic plans, roadmaps, and initiatives that align with organizational goals.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Extensive experience in implementing and managing security measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are highly desirable.
