Job Description

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures safety of staff and residents by regularly maintaining work and storage areas in a clean, safe and
  • sanitary manner
  • Operates and cleans equipment, furniture, and cleans and maintains all areas related to residents as per
    work routines.
  • Provides thorough training to team members on Housekeeping/Laundry job routines, relative body
    mechanics, and knowledge of WHMIS and proper handling and storage of relative cleaning supplies and
    chemicals
  • Negotiating with suppliers to obtain optimum value for products and agreement on delivery schedules
  • Develops strong working relationship with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure environmental needs are met
    and timely response to queries from potential residents, family members and friends as required
  • Identifies and investigates concerns or complaints from residents, family or staff relative to the
    environmental department in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or General Manager as
    required, and takes the appropriate corrective action;
  • Sources and orders services/supplies for Housekeeping/Laundry services focusing on obtaining the highest
    quality for the most reasonable price
  • Oversees and co-ordinates Housekeeping/Laundry team members and other members of the Resident and
    Guest Services team during Manager on Duty schedules
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory
  • Strong skillset around cleaning and repairing minor items around the home
  • Housekeeping experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with scheduling and budgeting for team members is considered an asset
  • Class G/Class 5 driver’s license with clear driver’s abstract (Applicable to Ontario/Alberta)
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certification
