SUMMARY:
Merit Services is seeking a skilled Event Security Officer to join our client’s dynamic team in Vancouver. As an Event Security Officers important for upholding security, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring seamless management of events. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who take initiative, have a deep sense of accountability, and have a keen interest in maintaining public safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform comprehensive security screenings at event entry points to avoid the ingress of unauthorized objects, individuals, and luggage.
- Keep a vigilant eye on the event premises and act swiftly to address any doubtful behavior, disruptions, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by aiding event participants, responding to requests, and guaranteeing a gratifying and favorable encounter for everyone.
- Ensure compliance with event protocols and safety measures, incorporating adequate measures for crowd management, to uphold decorum and avert any probable disturbances.
- Coordinate security endeavors and respond proficiently to incidents by working jointly with event planners, venue personnel, and government officials.
- Produce and deliver precise records detailing any security violations, disruptions, or occurrences that may arise throughout events.
- Efficiently operate and upkeep various security equipment like metal detectors, communication devices, and surveillance cameras.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Obtaining a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- A legitimate security guard permit is granted by the relevant governing agency.
- Excellent communication and people skills are necessary to interact skillfully with event attendees, staff, and authorities.
- Being able to maintain a calm and collected demeanor during tense situations and promptly arriving at appropriate solutions.
- Having familiarity with event security procedures and expertise in managing public gatherings is advantageous.
- Preferably, the individual should hold a certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Being able to work at non-traditional hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary as events often occur during these times.
