Merit Services is seeking a skilled and innovative Environmental Technician to join our client’s dynamic team in Regina. As an Environmental Technician, your contribution will be pivotal in promoting environmental endeavours, carrying out on-site activities, and upholding adherence to environmental protocols. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform on-site research and collect samples from the environment, such as water, air, soil and waste, while strictly following safety protocols and established guidelines.
  • Conduct laboratory testing on the acquired specimens, guaranteeing precision and dependability of outcomes.
  • Help with the creation and execution of programs that observe the environment and assess compliance.
  • Collect and evaluate information gathered from both fieldwork and laboratory experiments, preparing detailed reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Help with the organization and submission of paperwork related to environmental permits, applications, and compliance to ensure their adherence.
  • Smartly assessing environmental performance indicators, pinpointing deficiencies, and proposing effective remedies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in environmental policies, top-performing strategies in the industry, and emerging trends to remain informed and current.
  • Work together with teams from different departments to champion eco-consciousness and sustainable measures throughout the company.
  • Engage in evaluations of ecological consequences and restoration undertakings as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a similar field educational degree or diploma is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in performing ecological site visits and gathering specimens for examination.
  • A thorough understanding of environmental laws and regulations and the ability to comply with them effectively.
  • Superb abilities in analyzing and resolving issues to comprehend and assess environmental information.
  • Having strong abilities in communicating is essential for interacting and coordinating with both internal coworkers and external parties involved.
  • Proficiency to perform tasks autonomously and cooperatively within a group setting.
  • Showing keen attention to detail, combined with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • An authenticated license to drive and a readiness to embark on necessary journeys.
