SUMMARY:
Merit Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Economist to join our client’s team in Brampton. As an Economist you will be responsible for conducting extensive research and analysis on economic and financial data to provide valuable insights that inform investment decisions and support our clients’ financial goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct research and analysis on financial and economic data to inform investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain econometric models and forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze global economic trends and policy developments.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop investment strategies and recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with economic and financial industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Use various data sources and analytical tools to conduct research and analysis efficiently and effectively.
- Work closely with other economists, analysts, and portfolio managers to ensure cohesive and effective decision-making.
- Continuously improve and update econometric models and forecasting techniques to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in conducting research and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Possess at least 3-5 years of experience in financial or economic analysis.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with econometric modeling and forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, managing multiple projects and priorities.
