SUMMARY:
Merit Services is seeking a skilled Construction Site Security Guard to join our client’s dynamic team in Vancouver. As a Construction Site Security Guard, your duties will include ensuring adequate security measures to safeguard valuable assets and creating and maintaining a secure environment for both workers and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly inspect and oversee the construction premises in order to prevent stealing, damaging acts, and unapproved entry.
  • Manage entry points by confirming identity, carrying out safety screenings, and allowing only permitted individuals to access the premises.
  • Ensure that security protocols and safety regulations are implemented to uphold a safe and risk-free environment.
  • In case of alarms, incidents, or emergencies, act quickly and implement the necessary measures to minimize the risks and preserve the well-being of individuals and assets.
  • Frequently examine equipment, machinery, and supplies to identify and communicate any instances of harm, disappearance, or hazards.
  • Ensure precise documentation of security events, daily operations, and guest entry to have convenient access in the future.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of secondary education or its equivalent.
  • An approved regulatory agency is responsible for issuing a valid license for security guards.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential for successful interactions with site staff and interested parties.
  • The capability to maintain a cool and collected demeanor during stressful circumstances, while also having the agility to swiftly make decisions when needed.
  • Prior knowledge of safety procedures on construction sites as well as experience in construction site operations is desirable.
  • Having certification in First Aid and CPR is advantageous.
  • The ability to work different shifts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary since construction projects frequently demand security coverage around the clock.
