SUMMARY:
Merit Services is looking for an experienced and results-oriented Biomedical Technologist for our client. The ideal candidate will maintain and repair medical equipment to diagnose, treat and monitor patients. They will have a strong background in biomedical device technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Provided support with the troubleshooting and repair of medical equipment, such as X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, and ventilators.
- Advising healthcare staff on the proper equipment usage and maintenance procedures.
- Participating in the selection, procurement, and installation of new medical equipment.
- Maintaining detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and calibration activities.
- Researching and staying up-to-date on new technologies and industry advancements related to medical equipment.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of equipment safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all equipment meets regulatory standards and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years of work experience as a biomedical technologist in a healthcare setting.
- Acquire a general understanding of electrical, mechanical, and computer systems used in medical devices.
- Experience maintaining and repairing a variety of medical equipment including patient monitors, infusion pumps, and imaging equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of documentation.
